CHADxMoonHowl aka Chad Lohrli

It’s time to let out a mighty ahwoo for our friend CHADxMoonHowl!

Many of you know Chad from his work at SDx, his AI community. They’ve been growing quickly and recently secured a new den over at Liberty Station. Howl yeah!

Their goal is to use AI to solve hard problems. Nothing against wrapper businesses, but that’s not quite their chase.

Fun fact about SDx: The brand is designed to accommodate many different types of cutting-edge development.

- SDxAI
- SDxBlockchain
- SDxHowl?

They’ve taken a clever approach to building community too, focusing heavily on going deep rather than wide. They have an impressive process to evaluate projects and often leave the decks and pitches at the door. It’s all about sharing the code.

Chad has been bringing communities together for years. He’s one of the co-founders of ETH SD, our local chapter for Ethereum. We’ve been to many of their events (pre-social coyote, we call that PsC), all while working as a Full Stack Dev.

I remember attending the first AI event held by ETHSD. AI was exploding, and it seems like that might have been the origin of SDx, or at least the public origin anyway. I’m sure he was hatching the community behind the scenes. You’ll have to ask him.

So what’s up with the CHADxMoonHowl nickname? Well, we don't exactly know what he does during a full moon, but did you know that he worked in the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab as an undergraduate engineer? If we send a coyote to the moon, we’re saying he helped do it.

It really feels like SDx is gaining steam, and it’s a fantastic example of defining who you are as a community, gathering people around a mission, and setting up an HQ to gather his pack. We can learn a lot from Chad. Even though many of the events require approval, they’re opening up some so that AI enthusiasts (and simple coyotes like us) can join in on the fun.

And there’s not a chance we’re letting our embarrassing cousin Wile E. Coyote pitch SDx any of his harebrained schemes… CoyotAI is nothing more than a clever name! There will be none of that, Wile.

Howl yeah, Chad, thank you for all you do for the community. We’ve loved watching you build and we’re looking forward to checking out the new den too.

Awooo!
